Drunk in front of a crowd English Frank channels his inner racist

Popular culture
16 April, 2013

UK rapper English Frank caused outrage on Twitter for two days when a video of him making racist comments to a security guard was discovered.

The recording was taken at the Hip Hop Isn’t Dead event, featuring Black the Ripper, Akala, Swiss, and Ty.

Frank referred to the guard as a ‘dumb African’ and when jeered by the crowd went on to claim that he was African himself because he comes from Brixton.

People took to Twitter to ask the other artists if they allowed Frank’s comments to stand. Akala tweeted that Frank was pulled up on the night and was made to apologise.

By Tuesday a video of Frank’s apology was tweeted but people had already made threats against the rapper.
