Trayvon’s killer should not be allowed to box for money

Trayvon Martin and his dad
Popular culture
5 February, 2014

Had he lived Trayvon Martin would have been 19 today. Trayvon was killed by gun toting neighbourhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman. As people remember Trayvon and the injustice dished out due to Florida’s Stand your Ground laws, his killer has been elevated to celebrity status and the media is today filled with reports of a confirmed boxing match between Zimmerman and DMX.

Some people are naturally upset that the news should be announced on Trayvon’s birthday. Was it intentionally disrespectful? Did match promoter Damon Feldman deliberately wait until today to announce the news considering DMX was quoted by TMZ last week? Or did no one – including media outlets – realise what today was? I actually believe people knew and chose to announce on this day to play with people’s emotions.

The boxing match itself is a poppy show and shouldn’t be allowed to happen. Zimmerman is actually getting paid for this match, his so called celebrity status is based on the fact that he killed a black teenager and got away with it. This is a disgrace and black people, especially American’s should be outraged and calling for this match to be abandoned.

If he believes that by allowing himself to be bashed by a black man in a ring, he will somehow be exonerated for killing Trayvon then he’s as misguided as he is dangerous. If he’s on a death wish then he should use one of his many guns to put himself (and us) out of his misery.

What do you think? Do you want to see Zimmerman beaten or do you think it’s a disgraceful attempt to get paid for killing Trayvon.

This killer is famous for killing an unarmed teen and getting away with it. How in the world does this make him a celebrity? What is this world coming to when he can be considered a celebrity? Chile! I am so mad. I see people happy for the fight to happen thinking they’ll get justice. WRONG! The killer will get paid, DMX might get in trouble or who knows the killer might pull out the moves he made on Trayvon and put the hurt on DMX. Whatever. This should not happen. Come on America.

I think this boxing match idea is a shameless way for Zimmerman to earn money from his notoriety as a child killer who got off. I’m shocked that other people aren’t calling for this fight to be banned.

Zimmerman cannot give us justice by being beaten to a pulp by a black man. If anything if DMX were to beat him within an inch of his life, black people would somehow get blamed and the killer would get public. sympathy.

If there is a petition calling for a ban, I will gladly sign it. If there isn’t why not?

Turns out there is a petition. We are not alone.

This punk claims to have boxed before but yet he had to take a gun to an unharmed teenager. This boxing promoter is a money hungry motherfucker for even considering this.

Zimmerman should go body himself quietly somewhere. Any black person who thinks this is justice needs a slap.

This Day In History

Events in History
On this day in 1949 A fascist mob congregated outside Carrington House in Brookmill Road, Deptford, London, the home of African seamen who have complained of racist treatment including being banned from pubs. Whilst 800 whites and 50 police battled outside the frightened occupants armed themselves with knives unsurprisingly. They were subsequently arrested for doing so and the rioters were not.
Person
On this day in 1918 Nelson Mandela was born.
