GQ names Tinie Tempah Britain’s best dressed man 2012

Popular culture
31 January, 2012

Rapper Tinie Tempah is officially Britain’s best-dressed man of 2012, according to a list released by GQ magazine.

The dapper Tempah — a former chart-topper whose real name is Patrick Chukwuemeka Okogwu Junior — wins top place on the list compiled by celebrities and experts, earning praise for his “true passion for elegance and proportions”.

In second place comes flamboyant Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli, known for his mohawk. Doctor Who star Matt Smith earns third place by looking “pretty cool” in clothes that “should be a joke”.

Twilight pin-up Robert Pattinson, Spider-Man star Andrew Garfield, Henry Cavill of Superman fame, Idris Elba of The Wire, Christian Bale of The Dark Knight, Sergio Pizzorno — guitarist from Kasabian — and Ian Brown of the Stone Roses complete the top 10.

On the flip side the magazine named Chris Brown their worst dressed male for 2012. The magazine said of Brown,

“For someone who seems to have so much disposable income – he boasts on one track about spending “15 grand on a phone” and charged over $500 for meet-and-greets on his last tour – Brown seems utterly averse to investing in tailoring, combining the worst excesses of XXL sizing with a penchant for deeply unflattering costumes. Sorry “Team Breezy”, but you may have to look away now…”
