CNN set to interview George Zimmerman

Zimmerman
Popular culture
14 February, 2014

It seems that a week doesn’t go by where Trayvon Martin’s killer isn’t headlining in the media or upsetting people on social media. Today people are riled because CNN will be interviewing George Zimmerman.

Zimmerman was interviewed by Chris Cuomo on Wednesday and the interview entitled ‘George Zimmerman speaks out’ is meant to air on Tuesday 18 February. I say meant to as people are calling for the interview to be cancelled. And rightfully so. Zimmerman should not profit from killing Trayvon.

In the interview with Cuomo Zimmerman says he is not haunted by the night he fatally shot Trayvon Martin. But he doesn’t know why.

It seems that since the boxing match was cancelled, he is trying to make a buck by any means necessary. Do we really want to hear what he has to say? To listen to this man talk about his feelings? I know American’s love a reality TV show and all things ratchet but hopefully they will draw the line at this mess.

Zimmerman also has given an interview to Univision that will air at 6 p.m. Sunday. This guy is rely pimping himself out off the back of Trayvon’s death.

As well as people going in on the #CancelTheInterview hashtag on Twitter, there’s a #CancelTheInterview petition for anyone who wants to sign it. I hope CNN listen.
