I do love a bit of celeb gossip but I normally don’t like to go too deep into people’s business if I like them. Since learning that Scandal actor Columbus Short allegedly sucker-punched a guy in a bar, I’ve been preeing for updates.
It’s been reported that Short was arrested and taken into custody on Wednesday and released after posting $50,000 bail. If convicted, he could face up to four years in state prison. Oh my.
All this snooping got me over involved in the man’s business. Now, I’m fully aware that he has a habit of putting his hands on people.
According to the Associated Press, in February, Columbus pleaded not guilty to misdemeanour spousal battery and, at a March 5 hearing, was ordered to stay away from his wife, Tuere Short. She filed for divorce last year but dismissed the petition earlier this year, reported.
He was charged with felony battery in June 2010 and pleaded no contest to the reduced charge of disturbing the peace in February 2011. He was placed on three years of informal probation and told not to threaten or use violence on anyone.
Disappointment is bound to follow when you get too caught up in a celeb’s business, and my newfound knowledge that Columbus put his hand on a woman is really disappointing and scandalous. They say never meet your heroes, and this is why.
