The Mail sets to strip Jamaica of it’s finest hour

Popular culture
10 August, 2012

On 9 August at the 2012 Olympics, Team Jamaica struck Gold, Silver and Bronze in the Men’s 200m race and everyone, except maybe the Daily Mail roared.

In a timely article to strip Jamaica of any glory gained from their medal trifecta, the Mail wrote an article depicting Jamaica as the ‘worst offender’ in terms of having the most prisoners in British jails.

Despite coming under attack constantly for its misleading articles, the Mail seems to take great pleasure in whipping up public outrage and intolerance in a bid to sell papers. I have to ask: who buys this rag?

Despite giving racists the opportunity to trash Jamaica’s achievements in the 2012 Olympics, the Mail has failed to kill my pride in Jamaica. We run tings, tings nuh run we!
