My Whitney Houston

I am saddened by the death of Whitney Houston but I admit I mourned her many years ago.

I stopped following Whitney’s career many years ago when her marriage to Bobby Brown kept her in the papers for all the wrong reasons.

Whitney was an inspiration to me and I admit to being incredibly disappointed when she hooked up with Bobby Brown. I have seen pictures of her looking haggard and out of it from abuse rather than drink. I will not remember her that way.

My Whitney will be forever beautiful.

I only wished she had found the greatest love of all and learned to love herself.

Old Irish remembrance poem

Remember me with smiles and laughter

‘Cos that’s how I will remember you all

If you can only remember me with tears, drugs and sorrow

Don’t remember me at all

(Okay. I changed a few words)

RIP Whitney
